***UPDATE*** Apparently this nutjob is also a Freeper. I’m shocked.

Here’s his bio from Free Republic (it has since been pulled– FR banned his account). He posted under the screen name “marc costanzo”.

I am a lifelong Conservative Republican .

I have an Associates Degree in the Science of Electronics .

Ann Coulter is a Goddess and I worship Laura Ingraham and Michele Malkin .

English is the langauge of the United States of America- – our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution are written in the langauge that expresses our civilized freedoms .

Spanish is the language of Banana Republics, beyond that it belongs in a European country.

Three days before Olbermann reportedly received the white powder and threatening letter, the Freeper nutcase posted this:

To: All

This partisan loudmouth Olbermann is a demagogue !

Someone should find out where he lives and mail him a Ted Kazcinski letter . .

FBI: L.A. Man Mailed Threatening Letters

A man was arrested and accused of mailing threatening letters laced with white powder to Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, David Letterman and other high-profile figures, the FBI announced Sunday.

FBI agents took Chad Conrad Castagana, 39, into custody Saturday on charges of conveying false information and sending threats via the U.S. mail, the bureau said in a statement.

Castagana, of Los Angeles, was being held in a federal detention center pending an initial court appearance Monday, when prosecutors were expected to file charges.

Authorities claim he mailed threatening letters to Pelosi, Letterman, New York Sen. Charles Schumer, Jon Stewart of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” and MSNBC host Keith Olbermann.

Some letters included phrases like “Death to Demagogues” and pictures of victims of the 2004 Asian tsunami, authorities said.

While the FBI is still trying to identify the white powder, preliminary tests revealed it does not pose a biological hazard.

The letters were sent with fictitious return addresses over the past three months to addresses in New York, New Jersey and San Francisco, officials said.

Authorities said they watched Castagana, who is unemployed, walk from his home to a public mailbox Thursday and deposit several letters. One was allegedly addressed to someone previously targeted and contained the white powder, the FBI said.

I’m about to run out the door for an appointment, so I don’t have time to hunt down the links, but I recall a number of wingnuts accusing Keith Olbermann of mailing the threatening letter to himself.

Anyway, a google search on “Chad Castagana” shows him to be quite the character:

How about creating a new sci-fi anthology with none of the puerile baggage of Rod Serling, Gene Roddenberry, Rockne O’ Bannon, etc., etc. It is time to end their reign of Left-wing innuendo, their anti-American, anti-mankind cynicism and fatalism.

Heh. He’s also a Katherine Harris fan.

***UPDATE*** Here’s a few of Michelle Malkin’s Hot Air commenters back on September 27, accusing Keith of mailing the letter with the white powder to himself. Read the whole thread, they are really lovely people over there.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he sent the package to himself.

This is bull. The freak did this himself for sure. Anyone who would have actually sent him that letter … would have used the real thing instead of settling for SOAP POWDER.

This is no different than the false reports of hate crimes Michelle has written about over the last few years. It’s just another episode designed to draw attention to his show.

This could actually turn out to be the most hilarious event ever if he is found to have done this himself. He’d be finished.

I hope they track the package. I give it a 90/10 that the ESPN Loser did it (or had it shipped). Either way, its a Federal crime. Prison for someone, bend over Keith …..
hey I like that, Bendolverman

He will either blame a rabid right-winger for this, when in all likely hood it was a Kos type trying to give their hero something to talk about, or KO did it himself… so he’d have something to talk about and maybe get an extra viewer or two (in hopes of breaking a dozen).

  1. Bless you and this website.

I love anything that makes Michelle Malkin/Coulter/Schussel look like a complete hack.

Keep up the good work. You really should post more often. 🙂

  2. […] I’m sure someone will post a clip. Too juicy. Update: See also these fine blogs — Michelle Malkin Is an Idiot; Sadly, No. […]

  3. Does anyone else grok to the super-duper double-reverse-loop projection used here? It’s an advanced form of wingnut kung-fu seldom seen this side of the twinkie wrapper.

The idea is, wingnuts project not only their fears and weaknesses onto others, but also their need to project their fears and weaknesses onto others.

In poker, it’s a winning hand.
