Michelle Malkin is an Idiot
Hillary Derangement Syndrome turns violent

I’m sure Michelle Malkin will be weighing in on this any minute now.

Meet Richard Wargo, a 19-year-old LSU student charged with plotting to kill U.S. Senator and 2008 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Associated Press report:

BATON ROUGE, L.A. — A Louisiana State University student told a classmate he was planning a violent attack against New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Nineteen-year-old Richard Wargo, of Shreveport, Louisiana, was being held Friday on $1 Million bond.

He was booked on counts of terrorizing, communicating false information of planned arson, and possession of marijuana and drug equipment, according to officials.

Clinton, a Democratic presidential candidate, is scheduled to be in Baton Rouge Saturday to speak at the National Conference of Black Mayors.

LSU Police Chief Ricky Adams said Wargo asked another student if he wanted to commit arson, a “terrorist act” that he described as a “national event” and involved Hillary Clinton.

[…]

Police arrested Wargo last night. Officers searched his dormitory room and found documents that made the classmate’s accusations appear credible.

The Secret Service is also investigating.

The Smoking Gun has more:

When Wargo’s classmate told him that an attack on Clinton would make her even more popular, he responded, according to the warrant, “True, but have you ever heard of a dead president?”

Meanwhile, here’s what the charmers over in Freeperland are saying:

But what did he do that was wrong?

  1. If suggesting that giving a would-be assassin the Medal of Freedom doesn’t get removed by a moderator, the mind reels at what does.

  2. […] It’s bad enough that the Bush administration is so beholden to the “Use National Guard Tanks for Target Practice” wing of the NRA that one of the attorneys fired as a part of Gonzo-gate was canned because he complained about FBI foot-dragging in regard to the murder of a colleague who happened to be a gun control advocate. Now we’re presented with a case where the NRA’s advocacy directly harms national security. How so, you ask? Well, there’s this little known bill working its way through Congress at the moment that would prohibit terrorism suspects from purchasing guns. If these would-be terrorists hadn’t been stopped when they were, and this law were in place, they would’ve been stopped when they tried to buy weapons – a sort of extra layer of security. And yet, the NRA is apparently okay with allowing terrorism suspects to buy weapons. Must explain why that radical militia in Alabama was able to get their hands on so many weapons in their aborted attempt to commit terrorism against Mexican immigrants. Oh, wait. Righties don’t consider violence against liberals, Muslims or Hispanics “terrorism.” Silly me. […]
